Gaffney Mullins & Co recently acted for a client who sustained injuries arising out of a road traffic accident that occurred on the M50 motorway. The claim was submitted to the Injuries Board in the first instance and they provided an Assessment of Damages. With the benefit of our advice, our client rejected this as it did not properly reflect the nature and extent of the injuries sustained, especially the on-going nature of the symptoms. Court proceedings then issued and a settlement was subsequently secured (without the necessity to go to court) which was just over twice the Injuries Board Assessment. This was a fair level of compensation based on the medical evidence and we were delighted to achieve this favourable outcome for our client.
