Gaffney Mullins & Co recently settled a personal injuries claim for a client who was injured in a road traffic accident in Dublin. The claim was initially submitted to the Injuries Board who subsequently made an Assessment of Damages. With the benefit of our advice as to the adequacy of the Assessment, our client rejected it and court proceedings were issued.

The claim was later settled out of court for a substantial five figure sum that equated to approximately 5 times what the Injuries Board assessment was. Liability was conceded and the settlement achieved was a fair value based on the level of injuries and time it took to recover. Our client was delighted, not only with the outcome, but also that the settlement was secured without the necessity to attend court.
